单词本：conversant

在看PMI Agile (PMI 2017)的时候，读到：In order to support project-specific needs, the PMO needs to be conversant in several competencies beyond project management itself, because different projects require distinct capabilities. 为了支持项目的需求，除了项目管理之外，PMO 还需要熟悉着不同的技能。因为不同的项目需要不同的能力。

这里 conversant 是熟悉、亲近、精通的意思。这个词来自拉丁语，本意应该是围绕着某个事情转的意思。com/con 是 together ，一起的意思。 versant 则源自 vertere，就是旋转的意思。围着某个事情转的人，那一定是对某样东西特别熟悉，特别亲近，特别精通了。

美国工业互联网联盟的一篇关于边缘计算的白皮书(IIC 2019)中，也用到了 conversant 这个词：An engineer conversant with oil and gas, for example, may know nothing about energy generated from diesel and solar to supply the edge nodes at the oil wells. 这里是说，一个熟悉石油天然气的工程师，可能根本不知道油田里边缘计算节点的能源是来自柴油机和太阳能。
