Banks 等人在介绍 OPERA 远程设备认证架构时 (Banks, Kisiel, and Korsholm 2021)，用到 enclave 这个词：

按照剑桥英语词典解释： enclave is a part of a country that is surrounded by another country, or a group of people who are different from the people living in the surrounding area.

enclave 是被其他国家环绕的另一个国家的领地，或者一群与周围都不同的人均。前者翻译为飞地。则没有合适的翻译了。就是区域内文化或民族与周围不同的部分人或区域。

引文是说与周边隔离的程序，可以用分布式的方式进行互相验证。与周边隔离的程序，即飞地程序。

Campione d’Italia is an Italian enclave in Switzerland. 金皮庸（意大利语Campione d’Italia又名坎皮奥内 ）是意大利的一块飞地，坐落于卢加诺湖湖畔，行政上隶属于伦巴第大区科莫省。金皮庸与意大利本土仅相距 1 公里，然而金皮庸与意大利本土并没有直接接壤，其全境皆为瑞士提契诺州所包围。

enclave 应该是源自拉丁语 inclavare 锁住。clavare 源自 clavis 钥匙。也就是说，飞地是被周围死死锁住的一块地了。

我们肩膀前面的两个骨头叫锁骨，英语是 clavicle 看来也是源自拉丁语的钥匙。锁和钥匙互相成就对方不是？
